So precious...

Every night before I go to bed I check on Cooper and Ella.  Sometimes I like to take pictures of them while they're sleeping.  That's not creepy AT ALL, I know.  :P  Anyway, they both look so sweet when they're sleeping.  And now Cooper has started choosing "friends" to sleep with every night and tucking them in beside him.  Sometimes they even have to have their own blanket "so they can be all snuggly too".  This night he had his three horses tucked in beside him with an old blanket he had as a baby.  Such a sweetie.

Today is our anniversary!

Chris and I have been married for six years today.  I can't believe we've already been married for six years!  And we have two kids!!!  When Chris first called me my sophomore year at Appalachian, I thought that it would be nice to have somebody to spend time with when I came home.  I was having fun at App, and was enjoying being single for the first time in a long time.  So the following Thursday I came home, and Chris wanted to get together.  We went to his house and watched a movie, but I don't even know what we watched because we talked the whole way through it.  We were both surprised that we just sort of clicked.  The next night he said we needed to have a "real" date, so we went to Outback to eat.  That night I came home and told my mom I was a little scared because I was pretty sure Chris was the guy I was going to marry.  :)  After that we were together some part of every weekend until I graduated.  We were married two weeks after graduation.  We joke all the time now that if I hadn't been at school we would have been those people who get engaged after a month.  There are definitely (many) times when we get frustrated with each other, but I never question that he is the man I was meant to spend my life with.

Cooper's thoughts on us...

At Cooper's preschool, he made a gift for me for Mother's Day, and tonight he gave Chris his early Father's Day present (since he won't be in school on Father's Day).  With our presents was a card where Cooper answered questions/completed sentences in his own words.  For mine, here are the questions and his answers:

Why did God make mothers?
Because God wanted babies to come.

What ingredients are mothers made of?
sugar

What kind of little girl was your mom?
She was in Miss Michelle's class, and she was a good girl.

How did your mom meet your dad?
Mommy was at church singing, and Daddy was at church being a bad boy.  She thought that was the silliest thing she had ever seen!

Chris's card was even better!  Cooper had to finish sentences about Chris, and his answers are so perfect!  He knows Chris very well!

1. My daddy is 3 years old.
2. He weighs 60.3 lbs. and is 60.6 feet tall.
3. His hair is brown and his eyes are green.
4. My dad loves to relax by laying on the couch, and he likes to wear his blue shirt and gray pants while he is relaxing.
5. He loves to cook french toast.
6. His favorite household chore is running on the treadmill.
7. His favorite TV show is football, and his favorite song is "Happy Birthday".
8. Daddy always tells me, "Do you want to watch a sweet show and eat?"
9. It makes him happy when I play baseball all of the time.
10. When my dad shops he shops at Wal-Mart, and he buys cheese and macaroni and cheese.
11. If he could go on a trip, he would go to the beach, and he would take sunblock, beach balls, sunglasses, and an umbrella cause it's really hot, and a chair so he can sit in the sand.
12. I really love it when my daddy takes me to Papa's Pizza and eat some cheese pizza.
He's the best!  I love you Dad!

Both of our cards are so precious.  We will cherish them always!

Happy Mother's Day!

My mom with my two babies.  I can only hope to be as loving, helpful, wise, understanding, and giving to my children as she is to me.  I am so thankful to God that He gave me her as my mother, and so thankful for the gift of being mother to my two most wonderful blessings.

Words of wisdom...

Cooper was talking about pretty girls tonight.  I said, "How do you decide which girls are pretty?"  Cooper, "Some people are pretty, and some people are not because that's just the way God made them."  Well okay then.
